In 2023 Denmark launched the world’s first Action Plan for Plant-Based Foods. The plan was accompanied by a funding mechanism that has since sparked innovation within the plant-based sector and helped mature the plant-based value chain. The plan and funding are widely supported across the Danish Parliament, farmers organisations and within civil society. But why did a country, where agriculture is predominantly animal-based, come up with such a plan, and how was the wide support achieved? And can the Danish example be copied across the EU? Learn about the background and the project Danish Plant-Based Diplomacy in this lecture given by the Vegetarian Society of Denmark.
